Just so we're clear...

If it comes down to it, I ain't voting for Hillary in November. Sorry kids, but to quote Olaf glad and big, there is some shit I will not eat. I might be willing to take a purple crayon and scrawl obscenities on the ballot, though. That would pretty well send the message I want to send.

Really? She's pledged to end child hunger by 2012; she would surely work hard for expanded health care; she seems far less likely to attack Iran; and what about Supreme Court appointments?

I should note that the idea of her winning is still pretty far-fetched; the only reason it doesn't seem that way is because of the witless media narrative.

I don't believe Hillary is that much less likely to attack Iran. She represents the "liberal" version of warmongering -- the one where it's okay to use depleted uranium against civilian targets as long as you're doing it to promote "human rights." Not only did she support the Iraq war from the start, and continued to steadfastly support it until it began to threaten her electoral chances, but she rabidly supported Clinton's Kosovo war, which was a key precedent for Bush's war in Iraq. And she still touts her support of that vile war to this day.

The main difference between her and McCain would be in rhetoric. McCain would justify an attack on Iran primarily with "national greatness" rhetoric, as well as fearmongering about some new WMD threat. Hillary would emphasize Iran's repressive government, i.e. "The dictator killed his own people, therefore we must kill even more of them." She wouldn't launch a ground invasion of Iran, but then again, even McCain won't be dumb enough for that -- they'd just bomb them.

I don't really think she'd have any strong, vested interest in attacking Iran for its own sake, but I do think--especially given her conduct during these primaries--that she would have absolutely zero problem doing if she thought it would help her poll numbers. Say what you like about Obama, but I don't get the impression that he would do that. Naive? Maybe, but I'll believe it until I have reason to believe otherwise.
